LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT REFUNDS 145 FORMER SUBSCRIBERS OF EGAN HOUSING ESTATE
admin An 18-year-old, Toheeb Akinbowale, has been mistakenly shot dead by a member of the Nigerian Hunter and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) in Lagos State.
Reports said the shooter, James (28), discharged his double-barrel rifle, accidentally hitting Akinbowale.
The young man was immediately rushed to the Ifako Ijaiye Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival despite efforts to rescue him.
Two others, one Sodeeq and another unnamed person, were also injured in the incident. They are currently receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Ikeja.
The police have recovered the weapon, a double-barrel rifle, and put James in custody pending further investigation.
Akinbowale’s body has also been deposited at the Ikeja mortuary as police continue their probe into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
