LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT REFUNDS 145 FORMER SUBSCRIBERS OF EGAN HOUSING ESTATE
Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly Adebo Ogundoyin has called on wealthy individuals in Ibarapaland and Oyo State to support political office holders so the state can experience rapid development.
Ogundoyin spoke during a town hall meeting where he empowered over 500 artisans, farmers, youths and traders in his constituency.
Three hundred artisans, traders and farmers each got N50,000 to boost their businesses, 100 students got N20,000 each while 110 youths and some community members received N25,000 each.
The speaker thanked the people of Ibarapa East for their support over the years, attributing his success to God and the constituents. He also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his efforts in changing the face of the state through infrastructure.
He appealed to the people to keep supporting the Makinde administration, and assured them that all ongoing projects in Ibarapa zone will be completed.
Ogundoyin, who reiterated his commitment to the development of the constituency, said he has been contributing to the development of the constituency before his emergence as a lawmaker.
According to him, he built a maternity centre, mosque for the Muslim community, secretariat for the Eruwa Youth Movement, blocks of classrooms in Lanlate and Eruwa, supported security agencies with motorcycles and facilitated opportunities for constituents.
He promised not to relent in championing the people’s interest.
Executive Assistant to the governor on Security, Sunday Odukoya, hailed the Speaker for organizing the programme, saying it will go a long way in keeping the constituents abreast of government activities in Ibarapa East Local Government.
Odukoya, a retired Commissioner of Police, said Oyo State is one of the most peaceful in Nigeria owing to the commitment of the governor and the House of Assembly.
According to him, the priority given to security led to the recruitment of over 1,500 persons in to the state Amotekun Corps; provision of patrol vehicles to the police and other sister agencies to ensure effective policing.
Odukoya called on traditional leaders in Ibarapa to join the government in fighting kidnapping and illegal mining. He said Governor Makinde has played a vital role to ensure that the farmers/herders clash is laid to rest, especially in Igangan and Iganna.
Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin, said the governor has outlined all roads linking geo-political zones in the state for construction for economic prosperity.
Sangodoyin, who was represented by Engr. Falade, assured that the Ido-Eruwa road will be completed soon. He also said rehabilitation of inner roads in the constituency will soon start as all processes to mobilise the contractor have been done.
Also at the event were Director-General, Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), Dr. Debo Akande, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, among others.
