Why we want Folakemi Agboola as Ejigbo council chair, by coalition

Ahead of the Lagos State local government elections, a coalition of women groups in the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed Hon. Folakemi Agboola for chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

A statement by the convener, Iyabo Sakete, said Agboola’s endorsement was necessary to deepen women inclusion at the grassroots.

The group noted that the chairmanship aspirant has been a vibrant voice for women in Ejigbo LCDA, and at the national level, propagating progressive ideologies and programmes.

According to Mrs. Sakete, Hon. Agboola, fondly called Moremi Asoludero, has paid her dues in Ejigbo LCDA and Lagos State when she served as State Coordinator for Women in the Tinubu/Shetima Campaign Group. Agboola was also a member of the Directorate of Planning and Strategy for the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat campaign group.

Mrs. Sakete also noted that the aspirant enjoys wide followership among party faithful and populace in Ejigbo LCDA.

She added: “We therefore urge our party leadership to pick Folakemi Agboola as chairmanship candidate for Ejigbo LCDA. We believe her candidacy would encourage and deepen women participation in leadership the council. Her vision will complement the #Lagosrising agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the national level.”

Folakemi Agboola holds a Diploma in Business Administration and Management, and certifications in Project Management. She is well read, widely travelled and has decades of experience in Project Management consultancy within and outside Lagos State.
