Body holds orientation for new excos

The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) in Lagos State has elected new leaders to oversee the association’s affairs for the next two years.

APBN, recognised as part of the Organised Private Sector (OPS) since 1992, has been instrumental in shaping informed policies through expert recommendations.

The body, at the weekend, held an orientation program to prepare the newly-elected executives for their responsibilities. Facilitators included past chairmen of the association – Alhaji Wasiu Akewusola and Mrs. Lynda Onefeli.

State Chairman Bldr. Bashir Asimiyu-Towolawi thanked the facilitators and executive members for their participation in the programme. He highlighted the importance of equipping leaders with the necessary knowledge and tools to meet the demands of their positions.

He also hailed the facilitators for their invaluable contributions to APBN over the years, noting that their dedication and achievements had set high standards and served as an inspiration for others. “The records they set during their tenure deserve a place in the Guinness Book of Records,” he noted.

Asimiyu-Towolawi also reiterated the pivotal role of APBN as the umbrella body for professional institutes, institutions, and associations in Nigeria. He added that it serves as a unified professional advisor to the government and promotes cooperation among professionals to address national issues effectively.

The orientation program featured lectures designed to provide insights into the association’s structure, objectives, and the expectations of executive roles. It is expected that the knowledge shared will help enhance the services of the newly elected officers to the association and the nation.

The new executive members are Asimiyu-Towolawi (Chairman); Arc. Babalola Majekodunmi (Vice Chairman); Tpl. Rasheed Osinowo (General Secretary); Mrs. Olubusola Aroloye (Public Relations Officer); QS. Farotimi Olanrewaju (Financial Secretary); Bldr. Adesanya Olufemi (Treasurer) and Mr. Olamide Balogun (Auditor).
