Content creators to get govt grant

Content creators have been admonished to apply for support funds to promote their passion.

National President of the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN), Michael Nwabufo, popularly known as Mike Premium, stated this at the weekend.

According to him, the association applied for grants through the Bank of Industry (BoI), and it will be released this October.

He said: “This press briefing is to let the upcoming content creators, skit makers, influencers and models know that we have successfully applied for the Federal Government Financial Assistance grant through the Bank of Industry (BoI), and we will be getting is this October.

“At least, one to three million naira will be sent directly to each person’s bank account, and thousands of upcoming creators will benefit from this grant to help them buy little production materials like cameras, light, laptops, microphones, among others.

“We will be partnering with a bank that will help us create business accounts that will receive the grants for the creators. All they have to do is follow @pccsign on instagram, click the link on bio, register and they will be informed when the disbursement starts in October.

“The money is not for them to do any other thing, but to help them grow and become successful content creators and influencers, because we know how talented a lot of them are but needing support.”

Nwabufo stressed that PCCSIGN is trying its best to help the country in its own little capacity, and so urged who don’t understand the process not to condemn the organisation’s struggle.

He added: “We saw an opportunity that will benefit a lot of young creators and models, so we took a step forward to approach the government for help. We have decided to take this significant moves towards nation- building and the growth of the Nigerian youths.

“As an ambassador of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), I will also be sponsoring the business registration of 100 upcoming content creators/influencers models. PCCSIGN has partnered with the Nigerian Police, which will help our creators to be recognised nationwide to avoid wrong profiling or harassment and disrespect.

“So you have to register and get your ID card on our website easily. Content creators should be respected, they are the big deal.”
