Akete Aviary donates to orphanage

The Aviary Association Worldwide (AAW), Lagos State chapter (Akete Aviary), has donated food items, cash and other essential materials to House of Mercy Children’s Home in Egbeda, Lagos.

Akete Aviary is a social philanthropic group of friends who finished university together and share a common goal of giving back to the society.

Global President Tobi Parker said the organisation’s goals extend beyond charity. According to him, the initiative is to identify with the children and share with them as a way of giving back to their root.

He said: “It is focused on promoting peace, social responsibility, and entrepreneurship. With a diverse membership comprising captains of industry, business owners, and like-minded individuals, we aim to create a ripple effect of kindness, inspiring others to join our cause.

“Today, we donated food items, clothing, refreshments and cash. This is just the beginning as we intend to do more. We want to identify with them and share in their responsibility. We have the intention of coming back to do more.”

State Chairman Ayodele Leshaodo restated they the group is giving back to the foundation.

He said: “We are trying to encourage the younger generation and generally have a positive impact on the society, especially the upcoming young ones because they are the future of tomorrow.

“We need to have a positive impact so they don’t feel they’re on their own. There are upcoming plans and programmes of the association to help communities across the Aviary states and in the Diaspora, especially our World Peace Day which is celebrated yearly on September 21.”

Representative of the House of Mercy Children’s Home Mrs. Ndidiamaka Nwaozuzu thanked the group for the generous donation, saying “these items will go a long way to make many children feel happy and put smiles on their faces. We so much appreciate them.”
