LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT REFUNDS 145 FORMER SUBSCRIBERS OF EGAN HOUSING ESTATE
Impeached Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Alvert Ayambem, has been reinstated.
The decision comes several days after the House allegedly removed Ayambem, but failed to install a new Speaker, and remaining mute over the position.
However, after a meeting with Governor Bassey Out on Sunday night, the House recanted and agreed to revert to status quo by reinstating Ayambem.
Governor Otu, who presided over an interactive session with the lawmaker and other stakeholders, called for peace.
A statement yesterday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, said the governor restated his commitment to constitutional democracy, separation of powers and the rule of law, where due process should be the order of the day’.
Ayambem thanked the governor for his intervention and pledged to ‘lead the Legislature with decency, integrity and remain committed to the welfare of members as well as the progress of the state’.
Meanwhile, Governor Otu assured children of best opportunities and resources during the Children’s Day Celebration in Calabar.
He said his administration’s continuous investment in education, healthcare, and infrastructure is to ensure children can access the best opportunities and resources.
He urged them to continue to dream big and work hard towards achieving their goals. “Remember there is no limit to what you can achieve with determination, resilience, and a positive attitude,” he noted.
